Community Guidelines

Last updated: 2026-05-18

Across is a small, friendly place to share journeys. These guidelines keep it that way. They're part of the Terms of Service — breaking them can cost you your account.

1. Be respectful

Treat co-travelers and other members the way you'd want to be treated. No harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, or attacks based on who someone is. Disagree about the best detour, not about people.

2. Be authentic

Be yourself. Don't impersonate other people, organisations, or places. Don't create accounts to evade a block or a suspension, and don't use the service to manipulate, deceive or scam others.

3. Keep it safe & legal

No content that is illegal where you or your audience are: no sexual content involving minors, no incitement to violence or self-harm, no promotion of dangerous or criminal activity. Don't share precise live locations of other people in a way that could put them at risk.

4. Post content you own

Only upload photos and text you created or have permission to share. Respect copyright and trademarks. No spam, no advertising, no bulk or automated posting, no off-topic floods.

5. Respect others' privacy

Don't post other people's personal information (faces, home addresses, plates, contact details) without their consent. If someone asks you to remove a photo of them, do it. Shared trips are visible to everyone you invite — only invite people you trust with that content.

6. Report problems

See something that breaks these rules? Report the user or comment from the in-app menu, or email [email protected]. Reports are reviewed by a human. Don't abuse reporting to harass others — false mass-reporting is itself a violation.

7. Enforcement

Depending on severity we may remove content, warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban an account. Serious violations (illegal content, threats, security abuse) lead to immediate removal and may be reported to the authorities. We aim to be fair and proportionate; honest mistakes handled in good faith are treated as such.
